Created a product to improve productivity and work-life balance for remote workers.
Create a product that enhances productivity for remote workers in local coffee shops, improving their work-life balance and work environment.
What I Worked On
Switching off my experimental mindset. I had months for this project to complete within but I had so many ideas and was pushed to explore each avenue. I'm so glad I did as it proved to be a product I'm not only proud of but experimenting with today as I use it to focus on my work at home.
The Toughest Challenge
Taking my design into CAD really put into perspective the nature of my product, being able to experiment materials, dimensions, environments, lighting, in a matter of moments using my knowledge of Keyshot 11. It opened my thinking to new ideas of how the product could flex, how to maximise its potential bend etc.
The Fun Part
I normally work by spinning all plates and remaining in control of my ideas and staying realistic. But with this being my final year product, I explored a more drastic idea and ran with it. Which I personally found so rewarding and enjoyable.
What Surprised Me
Working on Rhino 7 and Keyshot 11, I explored the digital creation of my product design, testing visuals, dimensions, and appeal. I could quickly experiment my design ideas at little cost, time, and effort and was highly rewarding to be able to visualise an idyllic finished product
The Creative Twist
Even if I felt not backed by others in my decision making over my product, I focused upon what this product would mean to me - it was my biggest passion project that I wouldn't do any other way. I put in practice my design, testing, development, prototyping, research, target market discovery, and pitching skills.
What I Learned
I not only created a product I was proud of but one that others found enjoyable and exciting - during the degree show, guests would try out my prototype and loved sharing their feedback
